Livestock Production in ARMM decreased by 13% in the Second Quarter of 2017
 
In the second quarter of 2017, ARMM was considered as the smallest producer of livestock with a rate of 3.5% in all regions of Mindanao. The volume of livestock production was estimated at 6,645 metric tons with a 13% decrease from 7,522 metric tons during the second quarter of 2016.
 
The production of cattle had the greatest contribution in livestock production in the region. However, there is a 15.2% negative growth rate from 3,040 metric tons in the second quarter of 2016 to 2,578 metric tons in the same quarter of 2017. Also, the volume of production of other livestock such as carabao, hog and goat from the same quarter of 2016 to 2017 decreased by 9.1%, 9.9% and 7.6%, respectively.

Livestock Production in ARMM Provinces in 2016
 
In 2016, ARMM was considered as the least producer of livestock among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 4.3%. Among all provinces in ARMM, Maguindanao has the largest livestock production with a rate of 39.4%, while Tawi-Tawi has the least production with a rate of 2.3%.
 
Carabao
 
ARMM was counted as the second smallest producer of carabao among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 14.3%. Among all provinces in ARMM, Maguindanao was counted as the largest producer of carabao with a rate of 55.8%.

Cattle

Same for carabao production, ARMM was also counted as the second smallest producer of cattle among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 11.9%. Among the provinces, Lanao del Sur was tallied as the largest producer of cattle with a rate of 31.9%.

Hog
 
ARMM was counted as the least producer of hog among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 1.8%. Basilan is the largest producer of hog with a rate of 58.6% among all provinces in ARMM.

Goat
 
ARMM was counted as the third smallest producer of goat among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 16.2%. Among all provinces in ARMM, Maguindanao, aside from being the largest producer of carabao, they are also counted as the largest producer of goat with a rate of 49.4%.

Poultry Production in ARMM decreased by 13% in the Second Quarter of 2017
 
The same with the livestock production, ARMM was also considered as the smallest producer of poultry and eggs in the second quarter of 2017 with a rate of 2.5% in all regions of Mindanao. The volume of poultry production was estimated at 2,026 metric tons with a 5.1% decrease from 2,134 metric tons during the second quarter of 2016.
 
The production of chicken eggs which has the largest input in the production of poultry and eggs in the region slightly increased to 1.1%, from 835 metric tons during the second quarter of 2016 to 844 metric tons in the same quarter of 2017.
 
On the other hand, the production of chicken, duck and duck eggs from the same quarters of 2016 and 2017 decreased by 1.5%, 40.1% and 12.8%, respectively.

Poultry and Eggs Production in ARMM Provinces in 2016
 
Same also in the livestock production, ARMM was counted as the least producer of poultry and eggs among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 2.3%. Among all provinces in ARMM, Lanao del Sur has the largest poultry and eggs production with a rate of 44.6% and Tawi-Tawi has the least production with a rate of 7.8%.
 
Chicken
 
ARMM was counted as the smallest producer of chicken among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 1.5%. Among all provinces in ARMM, Lanao del Sur was counted as the largest producer of chicken with a rate of 51.3%.

Chicken Egg
 
Same for chicken production, ARMM was also counted as the smallest producer of chicken eggs among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 3.4%. Aside from chicken, Lanao del Sur was also tallied as the largest producer of chicken eggs among all provinces in ARMM, with a rate of 31.9%.

Duck
 
ARMM was counted as the third least producer of duck among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 9.5%. Majority of the duck production in ARMM came from Maguindanao province with a rate of 90.2%.

ARMM was counted as the second smallest producer of duck eggs among all regions in Mindanao with a rate of 8.8%. Among all provinces in ARMM, Maguindanao, was tallied as the largest producer of duck egg among all provinces in ARMM, with a rate of 47.8%.

  • Production refers to the volume of indigenous (locally-raised) animals disposed for slaughter plus animals exported or shipped-out for slaughter both in live weight equivalent.
