PSA-BARMM enjoins public to register in PhilSys

The Philippine Statistics Authority of Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PSA-BARMM) is inviting the public to participate in the ongoing registration process of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

Provincial offices of PSA-BARMM have recently rolled out the Step 1 or Pre-Registration Stage for PhilSys, except for Tawi-Tawi, which is one of the 32 pilot provinces in the country that has already concluded the Step 1 Registration, is in the process of Step 2 Registration. Step 1 Registration involves the collection of demographic data and scheduling of appointments for Step 2, which is the validation of supporting documents and capturing of fingerprints, iris and facial image at registration centers.

PSA-BARMM, through its provincial offices, has already coordinated with all of the local government units (LGUs) in the region to orient and update them on PhilSys. Naser S. Usman, OIC-Regional Director and Akan G. Tula, OIC-CRASD Chief of PSABARMM have paid courtesy visit to Governor Abdusakur M. Tan of Sulu Province to further discuss PhilSys activities and to solicit for support as what they did in Tawi-Tawi. PhilSys is also supported by the regional government of BARMM including its ministries and offices.

PSA-BARMM deployed field personnel all over the region to register the Bangsamoro People in PhilSys. The public is highly encouraged to be aware and participate in the activities of PhilSys for the success of this national program.
