Data processing is one of the major phases in the conduct of 2018 CPBI and 2018 IOSPBI. This consists of manual and machine processing of accomplished questionnaires to ensure the acceptability and reliability of estimates generated. Manual processing involves field editing of the accomplished CPBI questionnaires upon collection by Provincial Statistical Offices (PSOs) field personnel, and manual editing to be done by the provincial statisticians. Machine processing is the subsequent activity following manual processing of accomplished questionnaires undertaken by the field offices and the subject matter divisions. Machine processing includes data entry, validation and encoding of updates, generation of completeness check, summary file report and statistical tables. Establishment Data Management System (EDMS), an online system designed and developed by the Systems Development Division (SDD) which is being used for establishment-based surveys will also be utilized to facilitate the data processing of accomplished questionnaires of 2018 CPBI and 2018 IOSPBI. To ensure the quality of statistics generated, 2018 CPBI and 2018 IOSPBI Data Processing Manual was prepared to provide comprehensive and standard procedures in the processing of data at the PSOs and Central Office. PSOs are responsible for the data entry, data validation and encoding of updates. On the other hand, Regional Statistical Service Office (RSSO) shall be responsible in reviewing and ensuring the quality of data of the provinces and will confirm acceptability of the provincial data through a certification pass, while the Central Office shall be responsible for the completeness check, evaluation and analysis of data, and generation of statistical tables.
