PSA-BARMM employees attend Training on Information System Strategic Plan
Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) conducted the Training-Workshop on Information System Stratefic Plan (ISSP) for Regional and Provincial Offices last 24 to 26 April 2019 at Robbinsdale Hotel, Quezon City. PSA-BARMM was represented by Mr. Esmail A. Nor, Administrative Aide, together with Ms. Surna T. Alano, Statistical Analyst of PSA-Basilan; Ms. Sohria L. Macud, Assistant Statistician of PSA-Lanao del Sur; Mr. Suharto M. Sabdula, Statistical Specialist II of PSA-Maguindanao; Ms. Fermelyn I. Nuron, Statistical Analyst of PSA-Sulu; and Mr. Abdullatip B. Ibrahim, Statistical Analsyt of PSA-Maguindanao.
ISSP refers to a three- to five-year computeriztion framework of an agency. This describes how the organization intends to use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in performing its mission and functions, specifically on data processing and decision-making processes. This training was initiated to to craft the Regional/Provincial PSA ISSP for 2021-2023.
Ms. Ludivina Genio and Ms. Nora Arreco of the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) served as the resources persons. The participants were introduced to the basic concepts of ISSP and other related topics during the first day. Ms. Malou Mistal, Vice-Chair of ISSP Task Force, gave a detailed discussion on ISSP, including its significance, process flows, forms to be accomplihsed, and roadmaps and timelines.
Workshop sessions started on the second day of the training. Participants from each region were tasked to fill-out the required forms. Participants from Region II, CAR, Region IX and Region X were selected to present their outputs after the workshop.
Participants assessed their expectations and shared their training impressions during the closing ceremony. Mr. Edwin Aragon, OIC-Assistant National Statistician of the Information Technology and Dissemination Service (ITDS) delvered the closing remarks. The training was concluded with the awarding of certificates to the participants.
