Mr. Razulden A. Mangelen, OIC-Regional Director (RD) of PSA-ARMM, and Mr. Mahmur H. Sarail, Chief of the Statistical Operations and Coordination Division (SOCD) of PSA-ARMM, attended the 3rd Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) Summit, with the theme “Enhanced Local Statistical Programming for Better Development Planning” conducted at Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Quezon City last September 04 to 05, 2018.

This year’s summit serves as an opportunity for RSCs to gather together and discuss relevant and emerging statistical issues/concerns at the subnational level, share good practices in the monitoring and evaluation of statistical programs and activities, and learn and discuss latest statistical developments useful for the local statistical system.

The summit was composed of four sessions for panel discussion, namely, 1) Sustainable Development Goals, 2) Statistical Standards (Part 1), 3) Regional Presentations of Best Practices for Monitoring of SDGs at the Local Level, and 4) Statistical Standards (Part 2).

At the end of the summit, participants are expected to have background on Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Sytem for the Regional Statistical Development Program (RSDP) 2018-2023; have documentations of good practices in the monitoring of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and other statistical coordination mechanism at the local level; and have learnings on statistical standards: 2017 PSCED, Advance Data Planning Tool (ADAPT), local level statistical activities: SDGs, Provincial Product Accounts, Regional Development Index, MMDA in Action, and visualizations: intergration of geospatial and statistical information and data visualizations.
