PSA-ARMM conducts RSS Stakeholders’ Forum
Representatives from more or less 30 ARMM line agencies attended the Regional Statistical System (RSS) Stakeholders’ Forum / Consultation-Workshop for the Formulation of the ARMM Regional Statistical Development Program (RSDP) 2018-2023 last June 21 to 22, 2018 at Alnor Hotel and Convention Center, Cotabtao City. This event is a continuation of the previously conducted orientation-workshop last February 26, 2018 at Pagana Kutawato Native Restaurant, Cotabato City.
In behalf of Mr. Razulden A. Mangelen, OIC-Regional Director of PSA-ARMM, Ms. Cayang M. Macud, Chief of PSA-ARMM’s Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division (CRASD), welcomed the participants and resource speakers from PSA Central Office Standards Service headed by Ms. Lotis I. Ira, Chief Statistical Specialist.
Ms. Melanie M. Indar of the Regional Planning and Development Office (RPDO-ARMM) presented the Overview of the Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2017-2022, ARMM and RDP Results Matrix. This was followed by Ms. Ira’s presentation on the Overview of the Philippine Statistical Development Program (PSDP) 2018-2023 and its Planning Framework. Ms. Rubelyn Q. Atienza, Statistical Specialist II of PSA Standards Service, discussed the contents, coverage, formulation process, mechanics and guidelines of RSDP 2018-2023; while Ms. Willi Krizia May G. Oracion, Statistical Analyst of PSA Standards Service, reported the highlights of RSDP 2018-2023.
The Identification of Relevant and Responsive Statistical Development Programs was presented by Ms. Norhayyah A. Tula, Senior Statistical Specialist of PSA-ARMM. Moreover, Mr. Saturly S. Sevenorio, Statistical Specialist II of PSA Standards Service, introduced the concepts of Statistical Survey Review and Clearance System (SSRCS) and Indicators for Sustainable Development Goals.
For the workshop session, the participants were divided into sectoral groups of economic statistics, social statistica, and environment, peace and order and multi-domain statistics for two workshops. They brought their accomplished RSDP Form 3 (Matrix on Statistical Development Programs and Activities, 2018-2023), which contains the issues and concerns and proposed statistical programs of each agency which they have submitted during the previous workshop. Those who were not able to submit were given the chance to comply, while others updated their outputs. Each group was tasked to consolidate the outputs of their members and presented it to other groups.
Ms. Indar lead the discussion for the finalization of the mission, vision and goals for ARMM RSDP. Participants raised their suggestions and thoroughly discussed every word used to make sure that they are appropriate for the message that they want to convey. The outputs gathered during this workshop will be reviewed and consolidated by PSA-ARMM as the designated secretariat of ARMM RSDP. The results will be presented to the Regional Statistics Committee (RSC) of ARMM during their second regular meeting for further evaluation and approval.
